1. Who we are
Blue Flamingo is a local Amsterdam business creating beautiful personalised designs for kids, used for birthday invitations, birthday cards, posters,… you name it.
The concept relies on capturing kids “favourite things” as in a printed time capsule, so we can remember, cherish and share these beautiful moments where they wanted to watch a certain movie for the 1256th time.
Orders can be placed via our webshop blue-famingo.nl or by phone during office hours. When ordering, we ask you to specify a list of the kid’s “favourite things”, being as specific as possible, that we will use for creating the design. We won’t use all the inputs, as some cannot be well represented, or won’t fit well with the format of the card, so it’s important you provide enough ideas to pick from. If we have any issue with the input “favourite things” we will get in touch and ask you more details.
To avoid any mistake or disappointment, there is an option for you to review the design before it’s finalised. Please tick this box when ordering if you want to control the design in its final stage.
2. The designs
We create each design upon order, based on your inputs. It’s a creative process, that takes somewhere between 1 and 3 days depending on the complexity of the design and the inspiration of the moment. If you have a special deadline please drop a message via the contact page, and we will let you know if we can match it.
Once finalised, the designs are shared with you electronically in high-quality format. You can use them for personal use only, for instance sharing the design with friends and family.
The designs consist of 2 parts: the visual part (drawings of favourite things, background color) and the written message. The written message needs to be personalised during the order, at least with the kid’s name. For all prints we add a message on the front page (for instance: “Ana is turning 4!”). For invitation cards we also print on the verso (for instance: Let’s celebrate! please join us at 14:00 at party straat 123 on Saturday 31 February.). For birthday cards we can print a message inside the card if you wish.
3. The prints
You can order various prints from our webshop. We print via a local quality print shop in Amsterdam. Prints are ready to be sent in 2 days after the design is ready. So all in all it’s about 5 working days between the moment you order and the moment the prints are sent to your home.
4. Minimum quantity
The minimum quantity for invitation cards in 10. There is no minimum quantity for posters and birthday cards.
5. Intellectual Property
It is not allowed to use the logo, images, designs from Blue Flamingo to earn money; they are protected by copyright.
If you use texts, images or videos that are copyrighted by someone else, you will be responsible for any claims.
6. Cancellation
It is possible to cancel an order depending on the stage the design is in. If you change your mind after putting an order in, and we haven’t started working on the design yet, we will cancel and refund you in full. If we have already started the design, the order cannot be cancelled anymore unfortunately.
7. Returns
Custom-made, personalised items (such as personalised cards) cannot be returned on the basis of the right of withdrawal. Custom-made items are excluded from the right of withdrawal. However, our goal is to have happy customers, so we put in place the possibility to control the designs before they get printed. This is important to double-check spelling mistakes, names, addresses of the party etc and avoid disappointments. Furthermore:
- If you don’t like the design: please keep in mind it’s an artistic process, and difficult to control. Just get in touch and we will see what we can do, like choosing other “favorite things” to represent, or tweaking the colors.
- If you made a mistake and realise it only after you receive the prints, please get in touch and we will arrange a correction and re-print for a fraction of the initial price.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provided, but mistakes happen… so just get in touch and we will try and find a solution for you.
8. Prices
Prices are specified on the website, and include BTW / VAT. Delivery costs are added at the final stage of ordering. There is no hidden cost behind what you see on the screen.
Our prices are basically made of two parts: the personalised design, and the physical prints, where can choose the quantity.
If you choose to get various prints (for instance, invitations cards, plus poster), we will charge the personalized design only once. This is because the changes necessary are only messaging and a very small portion of the time that is spent on creating a design. Just use the optional extra prints possibility when ordering.
9. Payment
You pay in advance, at order. Payment is possible via iDEAL via the website.
10. Delivery
Delivery is ensured by PostNL. The invitation cards and birthday cards pass through the letter box, not the posters. We charge a flat fee for delivery.
11. Complaints
We see a complaint as an opportunity to improve Blue Flamingo and make our customers happier in the future. We will do our best to offer you a suitable solution. So feel free to contact us!
12. Disputes
Only Dutch law applies to agreements between the entrepreneur and the consumer to which these general terms and conditions apply.
